Do the Broadband Survey!
Help us collect data about broadband in our area. We’ll use this information to make the case for additional funding and to tell our broadband story.
The survey will ask you for your broadband story: how you use the internet, the speed and cost of your current service, what you think of your provider, etc.
The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. But before you start, you’ll need to collect some information:
The monthly cost of your internet, phone, and television services.
The internet upload/download speed(s) you pay for.
You can find this information on your monthly bill or by calling your internet provider and asking them. If you see something like this -- 6 Mbps/1 Mbps – the first number is the download speed, and the second is the upload speed.
The internet upload/download speed you get
We ask that you visit www.speedtest.net and record your download and upload speed. If you can do this multiple times at different times of the day, that’s very helpful! Here are instructions on how to use speedtest.net.
Bonus points! 2 questions for your primary provider
It would help us tremendously if you could contact your primary internet provider and ask the following questions:
What is the maximum upload and download speed you can provide at my address?
Does {insert provider name here} have plans to provide fiber optic service to my address in the near future?
Document their answers, along with the name of who you spoke to and the date/time
